Windows 10 users should be introduced to the highlights of this new application(Photos) that replaces” Windows Photo Viewer” to browse images. Microsoft has been constantly updating its applications to add new options. “Photos” app has had a bunch of new features that most Windows 10 users probably do not know about. And because it’s really useful, let me introduce you to more and more things “Photos” can do in Windows 10.
1. You can play videos with “Photos”:
Its name is “Photos” and supports almost all image formats and types, but in fact, it is not limited to viewing images – but also videos. It is strange that the video player built into this application has features not found in the “Movies & TV” application that is supposed to perform this task. However, by playing a video within the “Photos” app, you can add an external translation, cut out a piece of it, or extract high-quality images from the video, add the Slo-mo effect, and some other unique features. Yes, it’s not a professional video player like VLC but at least it’s reliable to watch videos you’ve recently recorded through your phone’s camera or something like that. All you have to do to take advantage of this feature is to right-click on any video and then choose from the “Open With” drop-down application “Photos” and then the video will play directly

2. Find similar photos on the Bing engine to search:
Microsoft’s Bing search engine has the image search feature, which is very similar to Google Images. It’s great that this feature is already built into the “Photos” app. So if you have a picture on your computer that wants to know if there are other similar images on the web, all you need to do is open the image in the app and then right click on it. You see a list of options that includes the “Search for similar images on Bing” option, which you click to open a new page within the default browser on your computer where all similar images found are displayed.
3. Cut & Crop phoyos and focus on a specific part of them:
“Photos” provides a number of options you can use to edit your photos quickly and easily, including a crop tool that lets you crop your photos. But the tool has only recently cut the images to predefined dimensions and the user can not specify the part he wants to focus on as it is now. The application has a new update that allows users to cut images more freely. All you have to do is display the image in the application and click on the Edit option. In the Crop & rotate section, you can drag any of the four corners to select which part you want to focus on and which part you want to exclude from the image. When you finished your work click on “Save a copy” to create another version of the same picture but with new dimensions.
4. Convert a photo collection into a video:
We all know about “SlideShow” programs that allow users to create video from a set of photos and other short videos, which is very useful if you have taken several photos during your recent trip and want to show them to your friends and relatives in a decent and distinctive way. The “Photos” application in Windows 10 already has the tool that allows creating SlideShow with all the features you will need to get a great and unprecedented result. Just open the application and press New video project and select all the pictures you want to include in the video, then add creative touches such as transition effects, filters, text, etc. Finally, you can save it with the highest quality and share it.
5. Resize images:
Sometimes sharing large-size images, let’s say 4K, is very difficult because of the file size, or you often want to share a picture on a particular site, but this site has certain conditions about the dimensions of the images being uploaded. Here comes the role of the Resize feature in the “Photos” app. It allows you to change the dimensions of any image while maintaining the highest quality possible. All you have to do is open the image in the application and click on the menu button and choose to Resize and then click Define custom dimensions, it will show you a window where you can specify the width and height as you wish. You can activate the Maintain aspect ratio option until the dimensions are balanced. Finally, click “Save a copy” to save another copy of the image (while retaining the original) on the computer.
